While YG Entertainment is known for its musical acts like Psy, Big Bang, 2NE1, Epik High and multiple others, the agency is getting into the acting game. 2016 is a big year for the agency with the news that YG is co-producing the drama "Scarlet Heart: Ryeo," and there's more where that came from.
While several of YG Entertainment's actors are well known to the public, like 2NE1's Dara and actor Kang Dong Woon, there are several stars rising under the agency's actor management project, YG Stage.
These two models-turned-actresses were recently featured in YG Stage's "2+Me" pictorial photos and teaser videos, showcasing the beauty and poise of the pair.
Lee is considered one of the breakout stars of SBS's 2015 drama "Yong Pal" and she made her acting debuted in jTBC's "Sunam Girls' High School Detectives."
Meanwhile, Jung has appeared in dramas like the recent KBS2 series "Moorim School" and SBS's "Heard It Through The Grapevine" but fans may recognize her from music videos by Super Junior D&E, Big Bang's Seungri, and Lena Park.
YG Stage kicked off with a pictorial featuring Nam, who has appeared in multiple dramas since 2014, including the recent tvN hit "Cheese In The Trap."
Beginning with AKMU's music videos "200%" and "Give Love," Nam has garnered attention for his model height and appearance, but proven his worth in a variety of roles. Along with "Cheese In The Trap," Nam had a lead role in "Who Are You: School 2015" and appeared in "The Idle Mermaid" and "Glamorous Temptation."
He will also appear in this year's "Moon Lovers," and upcoming drama staring Lee Jun Ki and singer IU.
The only Japanese actor signed to YG Entertainment, Yamato Kohta is appearing in the currently airing drama "Kinpika," airing on Japanese network WOWOW. According to YG Entertainment, he also appeared in several Japanese music videos and broadcast appearances. The actor teamed up with WINNER member Kim Jinwoo as part of YG Stage's "Flame Pictorial" last October.
If you're watching "Cheese In The Trap," it's hard to miss Lee. Lee shines in the role of comical supporting character Baek In Ha, who uses her sharp wits to cause problems for everyone else around her. Lee's appeared in other dramas like "Queen's Flower" and "It's Okay That's Love," and reportedly will appear in the film "Broker." The actress-model also sings, and released a song in 2013" as a collaborative track with The Papers under Pastel Music.
