Mnet's notorious rap competition program Show Me The Money is already building hype with their auditioning line up.
On Feb. 7, Chosun Ilbo announced that rapper #Gun (also known as Song Gunhee) will be joining the program.
Gun became a popular name among many Korean pop fans during his time on Starship Entertainment's competition program No.Mercy. Although Gun was incredibly popular among viewers and perceived as a front-runner for a spot as a member of Monsta X, he was unfortunately cut from the final line up. As such, many fans are excited for another chance to see the popular underground rapper on a performance stage again.
Not only is Gun known for his work both in the underground hip-hop scene and on No.Mercy, but also as the cousin of WINNER member Song Mino. Mino is no stranger to the Mnet program, as he was the runner up for last year's Show Me The Money 4.
When asked by Chosun Ilbo about his cousin, Mino took the opportunity to share some advice. "Call me whenever you need to. Be the first to try something no matter what, don't blindly cower," he explained according to the report. "If you don't do anything then you will be forgotten."
As for some more poignant advice Mino also suggested, "From now on start writing lyrics."
Show Me The Money 5 recently sent out an audition call for talented rappers. For the first time ever, the show is also looking at talent in the United States as well as Korea. Those interested in auditioning can check out the official Show Me The Money 5 website for more details.
