4Minute Discuss The Mixed Reactions To Their Latest Single 'Hate'

K-pop girl group 4Minute recently returned with a new Skrillex-produced track, but the response from fans has been varied.

The five-member CUBE Entertainment act dropped "Hate" on Feb. 1, and despite currently having more than 8.5 million views on YouTube, not all fans of the group are fans of the song.

During an interview with South Korean outlet Joy News 24 on Feb. 12, the 4Minute members responded to all the love and "hate" the new track is recieving.

"We expected the mixed reactions. We’re also not completely satisfied," said the members, as reported by Soompi. "It’s our task to learn how to make the public open up to music that can be difficult to enjoy."

The members also evaluated how their album Act.7 is doing on the charts both domestically and internationally. "Looking at numbers, it’s our worst album to date in the domestic market. Internationally, it’s received the best response."

Despite the lackluster response from many domestic fans, 4Minute are currently promoting the track on home turf, doing their rounds of Korea's network major music programs. "It’s not easy. We try to do our best through live performances," they explained.

"Our music style has changed. Rather than sticking to a similar style, we enjoy seeking new musical adventures," the group members added. "It’s almost as if we naturally crave for such changes."

"Hate" was released on Jan. 31, and the track was co-produced by American DJ Skrillex.
