Choi Won Suk, a Korean photographer who is best known as Rotta, has sparked debate recently with his controversial photos of K-pop celebrities.
It all started when former f(x) member Sulli (Choi Jin Ri), uploaded photos from her shoot with the "Lolita" photographer last year on Instagram.
Dressed in the stereotypical school girl outfit, white top and short skirt, Sulli poses on the floor with her hands to her back, looking at the camera.
Said to be highly influenced by Japanese mangas and animation, Choi has been accused of portraying pedophilia in his photos with a majority of girls hiding their hands and feet.
To viewers who have seen Rotta's work claim that the photographer has a severe case of "Lolita's Complex" and promotes rape due to how models are posed looking like adolescent beauties in Japanese animation, according to the Korea Times.
However, Rotta responded to the accusations claiming that he does not have the said complex.
"I explained my name ‘Rotta' comes from the word Lolita with a joke," he said to Wikitree in an interview last month. "However, it was just a joke. I don't have a Lolita complex. I just want to express fluttering memories of first love I felt when I was an adolescent boy. That's why I capture images of girls."
Singer-actress Dohee and Stellar also became Rotta's "Lolita" models for their pass shoot with Stellar even using his images for their comeback album.
