Dynamic Duo Bring Down The House In Chicago

It's not often international fans of Korean hip-hop get the chance to see their favorite artists in person and even less often does the opportunity arise to see these favorites in a fan's own hometown. However, thanks to MyMusicTaste, fans of the legendary hip-hop duo, Dynamic Duo, got to do just that, at Chicago's Vic Theater, this past Sunday night.

Braving Chicago's chilly winds and cold rain, fans flocked to the Vic Sunday afternoon, lining up hours in advance with the hopes of being as close to the evening's stars as possible once the doors opened at 7pm.

However, VIP ticket holders were able to escape the less-than-favorable weather an hour early as they were ushered inside for what could easily be described as one of the best meet-and-greet experiences this writer has ever witnessed. Brought in by groups of 2-3, each VIP ticket holder was not only given the opportunity to meet the artists but also chat with them for a bit before turning to pose for a group photo. With smiles on their faces and stories to tell, each VIP ticket holder walked away from this once-in-a-lifetime experience with a heart full of joy and memories that will last a lifetime.

For international fans, interaction with an artist on this intimate of a level is something most can only ever dream about, but thanks to MyMusicTaste, fans of Dynamic Duo were able to make dreams come true. And the best part was, the concert hadn't even started yet!

With the meet-and-greet over, Dynamic Duo disappeared backstage and the doors of the venue were opened to the public. Soaked and frozen, fans poured into the theater, their frozen fingers and soaked shoes forgotten as the pre-concert buzz of excitement set in. With an ever-growing energy filling the room, fans anxiously counted down the minutes to showtime, their pent-up excitement exploding into wild cheers as the house-lights dimmed and DJ Friz took the stage.

Opening the show with a 15 minute set, DJ Friz got the crowd so hyped that by the time Dynamic Duo took the stage the energy in the room had gone from electric to nuclear. With the whole house bouncing and cheers so loud they shook the rafters, Dynamic Duo rushed the stage and the audience hit a new level of euphoria.

Going hard from the moment they first appeared, Dynamic Duo made good on their promise to fans to deliver an unforgettable show. Barely stopping to breathe, Choiza and Gaeko went hard all night with a killer set-list that included hits like: "BAAM," "Attendance Check," "Jam," and "Hot Wings," "Lee Dae Ho," "Shoot Goal In," and "Rhythm is Life."

Taking a break about midway through the show, the dynamic pair took a moment to chat with their fans and, as is always the case when artists visit the Windy City, they had to tell everyone how much they loved Chicago. Pulling a speech he'd prepared, from his pocket, Gaeko proceeded to tell of his and Choiza's adventures in the city. As any Chicagoan would, the crowd cheered when Gaeko announced that he loved Giordano's Pizza, chuckled when he couldn't quite describe his feelings after seeing the Chicago River dyed green for St. Patrick's Day, and joined Choiza in a hysterical fit of laughter as Gaeko professed his undying love for Game of Thrones.

From there, Dynamic Duo went right back into the music, pouring their heart and soul into their performance while their fans cheered them all with equal gusto. Dancing, jumping, cheering and singing along, the fans gave their all as Dynamic Duo gave theirs, both parties feeding off the energy of the other, taking the level of energy in the room to a whole new level as the night wore on.

Holding nothing back, Dynamic Duo kept true to their word, going so hard that by the time they announced their final song neither they nor their fans had any energy left. Of course that didn't stop fans from demanding an encore once the show ended any more than it stopped Choiza and Gaeko from returning moments later to perform one last time.

Stepping onto a dark stage, the duo seemed to be as happy to be back as the audience was to have them as they took this opportunity to connect with their fans. Under the soft glow of hundreds of tiny cell phone lights, Dynamic Duo took time to chat and interact with fans in one of the most intimate concert settings ever experienced by this particular writer. It was truly a memorable experience but in retrospect, that can be said of the entire evening. From the moment DJ Friz took the stage to the moment Dynamic Duo said their final farewell, the entire evening was nothing short of unforgettable.
