‘Doctor Strange’ Plot Spoilers; ‘Civil War’ To Reveal More Details Of Doctor Strange?

The world of Marvel is about to get bigger this year as it expands to something totally different from what Marvel has to offer in film. "Guardians of the Galaxy" slowly introduced a different world that will most likely fit in for future movies in the MCU.

This year, Marvel Cinematic Universe will push something entirely different: magic through the film "Doctor Strange." Benedict Cumberbatch, the titular character of BBC One's "Sherlock" and films such as "The Imitation Game" and "The Fifth Estate" will done the cape of the iconic Doctor for Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The casting of Benedict Cumberbatch has been the priority of Marvel and Disney. Cumberbatch is one of the most sought after British actors in Hollywood but he is also busy on his stage plays, TV series and other film commitments.

According to Games Radar, "in December 2014, Marvel announced that Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) had been selected for the lead role, despite previous reports that he would be unable to take it due to scheduling conflicts. Marvel must have really wanted Cumberbatch, because they shifted the production schedule around his availability."

The beauty of the upcoming film is the fact that it will no longer just be another standalone film. The tradition of a sneak peek on what's coming next in the credits for Marvel would most likely apply for the great Doctor.

But he has been mentioned once in MCU which foreshadows his possible addition in the upcoming films aside from a standalone offer.

In a report by Digital Spy, "The only reference to Stephen Strange in the MCU movies to date was in last year's Captain America: The Winter Soldier, in which he's named as one of several individuals whom HYDRA has targeted as possible threats. ...expect to see a much bigger tease for Doctor Strange in Civil War's post-credits scenes, if not within the movie itself."
