Ever since announcing a new album in the works, the band has regularly given fans updates about its development; recently they posted news about the upcoming album but, this time, it's both good and bad news.
Posted in their official website, Linkin Park said (via Audio Ink Radio) that they are still working on the new tunes.
"We're in a pretty low key area on the Northeast side of L.A.," the announcement read. "Nearby, there are ethnic restaurants, schools, dance classes, used car dealerships, martial arts studios, nail salons, palm trees, and the usual L.A. traffic. It's The Valley, dude."
Talking more about their development for the new album, the band went on to say that they are still in the early phase and are just really getting started.
"While we have no idea what the songs will turn into, or which will make the final cut, we're excited to have a ton of creative momentum," the band said.
They added, "We're still in the early stages of the album but we plan to keep posting info and live feeds. So make sure to follow us on all your favorite social media."
The last update the band has posted on social media is thru Mike Shinoda last February who described their upcoming eighth LP as "insane" and "powerful."
"We're hard at work making some new music for you," Shinoda said. "The six of us have been more than enthusiastic about how this album is shaping up, and I'm happy to share this update!"
"As usual during an early stage, we don't know a ton about where the songs will end up. They change shapes over and over during the writing process, and we usually write a dozen of songs, which push each other in and out of contention for a spot on the final album," the rapper added.
"This album is going to be insane, and we're looking forward to taking you on the journey as we make it," he said.
