The second season of "Fear the Walking Dead" will premiere a lot earlier compared to its maiden season. Last year, season one premiered in August with six episodes but the follow-up will premiere April 10 with 15 episodes. Fans of the original series will also enjoy the spin-off.
Since nearly everyone is already familiar with the characters, the pacing of the story and the action would be bigger. According to Cinema Blend, "the bits we've gotten are pretty intense and make it look like Season 2 will kick off with way more action and drama than it did when we first met Madison, Travis and their respective families."
Based on the trailers, zombies are never revealed on the boat and there's a bit chance that the yacht will be their base for a while but they have to be on land for their necessities. But being in the water doesn't mean safety for the survivors.
According to New York Times, "The boat will be the main setting for many episodes, which take their cues as much from thrillers like 'Dead Calm' and 'Knife in the Water' as from horror fare. There will be zombies, of course, but the greatest menace will be marauders and other seafaring survivors."
The creators of the series will also weave the story of the survivors to their web series spin-off. "Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462" will end soon and according to Uproxx, "One of the people in the web series will survive the apparent plane crash and join the cast of 'Fear the Walking Dead' in season two." As of this writing, there are no confirmations on which passenger survives the crash and how.
The second season of "Fear the Walking Dead" will be more than just zombies. The spin-off will ultimately blend survival at sea with harsh conditions and an apocalyptic setting of zombie attacks.
