KCON USA 2016: Block B And GFriend Will Perform In Los Angeles

Block B and GFriend have been announced as the first-round artists for KCON 2016 in Los Angeles.

On April 7, CJ E&M released the first two acts to perform at the Staples Center and provided details for upcoming tickets sales involving the preeminent Hallyu event.

Block B is a seven-member male group, consisting of Zico, P.O., Taeil, B-Bomb, U-Kwon, Park Kyung and Jaehyo. They are renown for hands-on studio work, particularly their contributions as hip-hop lyricists and rappers.

Their latest single, "A Few Years Later," is garnering positive attention, prior to the release of their fifth mini album, "Blooming Period," which is scheduled for release, later this month.

GFriend is a critically-acclaimed six-member girl group who debuted under Source Music in 2015. Members Yerin, Sowon, Eunha, SinB, Umji, and Yuju come together to create a sophisticated sound, leading GFriend to become one of the hottest rookie groups of 2015.

Their debut single, "Season of Glass," continues to receive accolades. In 2016, the GFriend delivered a thrilling, award-winning comeback with their third EP, "Snowflake" and "Rough," a single which received numbers music chart show honors.

KCON USA in Los Angeles concerts will be held at the Staples Center from July 29 through 31, with dynamic programming at the adjacent Los Angeles Convention Center.

The event will be preceded by KCON NY which will take place from June 25 through 25, at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. The expanded two-night concert and convention is expected to draw enthusiastic crowds, with Seventeen and MAMAMOO included in the exciting lineup.

Tickets for KCON NY will go on sale on May 13, followed by ticket sales for KCON LA, which open on June 3.

KCON NY Combo and Platinum packages go on sale on May 13 at 1 PM EST, followed by KCON NY Single tickets on May 16 at 1 PM EST.

KCON LA Combo and Platinum packages on sale on June 3 at 1PM EST, with KCON LA Single ticket sales following on June 6 at 1PM EST.

In its fifth year, KCON USA is the world's largest Korean pop-culture convention, KCON 2015 attracted more than 75,000 attendees, who traveled from near and far to see artists like Girls' Generation and Super Junior.
