Girl group Apink held their second solo tour 'Apink Pink Memory Day' in Singapore this April. Member Namjoo was seen with a neck brace and was unable to join in the dance choreographies due to a sprain. Certainly not a belated April Fools' joke, Namjoo sincerely apologised to her fans. "I'm so sorry for not being in good condition, due to sickness today. But i promise to show you a better performance next time!" With Namjoo seated on a stool, the rest of the members executed their moves well, at times dancing towards/around Namjoo to include her in. True to the title of their tour, Apink gave an unforgettable treat to their loyal fans, also known as Pink Pandas (naturally dominated by male fans). Despite back-to-back tight schedules, with almost no leisure time to spare in Singapore, Apink was in high spirits and as bubbly as ever.
The mini concert-fanmeeting kicked off with their latest title track "Remember". Apink brought fans down memory lane as they belted out new title tracks as well as older fan favourites. After performing "Good Morning Baby" and the highly-catchy "No No No", Apink took some time to greet their fans and had a mini Q&A segment. Chorong and Bomi mentioned how much they miss their Singapore fans. When leader Eunji was asked what she missed most about Singapore, she jokingly and instinctively answered "chilli crab" and later adjusted her answer to say Pink Pandas instead, with chilli crab being her second choice.
"Are you ready?" Bomi got the atmosphere up with just a simple, one could say flirty, question. The girls proceeded to perform a series of songs including "Attracted To You", "LUV" and "Sunday Monday".
Lucky fans were chosen by Apink members themselves to join in on a game of charades. The second round of required fans to dress up as pandas. It was surprising to find out that a handful of fans were dressed in full panda outfits or had a panda-related accessory on. Hilarity ensued when the actions are twisted and distorted from the original word. Apink's artistic skills were also put to the test when they had to draw instead of acting out the message.
Another game segment required the girls to vote for a member fitting the description given, using post-its. Bomi won the game and had her outfit plastered with pink post-its. She was voted as the fastest runner, the member most sensitive to heat and ability to eat spicy food.
While Apink went on a wardrobe change, the audience were treated to exclusive footage of what went on during their North American tour which was concluded recently. Apink then appeared in casual summer outfits and performed "My My" and "Mr Chu".
As the mini concert coincided with their 5th anniversary, their fan club prepared a fan video compiling Apink's adorable moments - their first win, their ups and downs since debut. The fan support also included a two-tier cake to celebrate the happy occasion. Members Hayoung and Namjoo were seen tearing up while the rest were noticeably touched.
"For the five years we have been together with you, we really wanna give you happiness through our songs. For the next few years, we'll be together as one. Let's stay together, forever!" Apink's grateful speech certainly made all the fan club's efforts worthwhile.
Pink happiness exuded throughout the venue and evident from the smiling faces of fans, both males and females alike. Apink's second solo show ended on a high note as the members thanked their dedicated fans. "I promise to bring back this good memory. Hope you will not forget us." Bomi certainly has nothing to worry about for we are sure Pink Pandas will stay true and wait for the next Apink event! At the end of the night, some lucky fans were able to get even closer to the girls through the hi-touch and phototaking sessions.
