Set about 1500 years ago, you've probably watched a lot of period dramas set in the Silla Dynasty and involving the Hwarangs like the ever so popular Queen Seon Duk. However, Hwarang: The Beginning will be the first drama to center on the Hwarangs themselves. The series stars Park Seo Joon (She Was Pretty) as a warrior who joins the Hwarangs through an event and Go Ara (Answer Me 1994) who plays his love interest. Park Hyungsik (High Society) will play Seo Joon's rival who is actually a royal-in-disguise.
