The power rookies, TWICE, won't go "TT" as the year ends as they set another groundbreaking record.
On December 6, TWICE's mini album entitled "TWICEcoaster: Lane 1" reached a total sale of almost 150,000 copies on Hanteo chart, according to All Kpop. As stated by representatives from Hanteo, this record makes TWICE the most ever sold girl group album in their history.
Likewise, Gaon chart also released that the nine girls of TWICE made another record on their chart as they also sold 220,000 copies for the same album which makes them the highest selling girl group album in the history of Gaon chart.
TWICE's "TWICEcoaster: Lane 1" was only released on October 24 which featured the cheerful pop song title track "TT" which garnered the girls back-to-back leads on music charts.
Before this majestic record, the girls also previously aced a whopping record of 150,000 copies sold for their "Page Two" album in August this year which made them the first girl group to have a sales record surpassing 100,000 units this 2016 as stated by Soompi.
Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu are continuously having a blast before the year ends. Apart from this good news from Gaon and Hanteo charts, they also made amazing milestones on their YouTube channel. Their 2015 debut hit "Like OOH-AHH" just reached 100 million views last month and was followed by their 2016 hit "Cheer Up" with the same views which made the girls one of the fastest viewed K-pop artists.
Perhaps, 2016 is TWICE's year. Aside from these achievements, they also won several awards in the recently concluded award-giving bodies such as the Asian Artist Awards, Melon Music Awards, and the Mnet Asian Music Awards where they garnered the "Song of the Year" award for their song "Cheer Up".
To give back to their fans this Christmas season, the girls just released last December 19 a Christmas edition of "TWICEcoaster: Lane 1" which contains the same track listing as the original version.
