Han Suk-Kyu made a stunning comeback to drama with “Romance Doctor Teacher Kim.”Although the drama has not finished, he has already received an offer to return to big screen to star in the thrilller movie “Father’s War.”
According to News1, the official from Han’s agency Clover Company has confirmed that Han has received the offer to play in the thriller movie “Father’s War.” However the official stated that Han has not made the decision yet.
The movie tells the story of a father, a reserved general in Korean military who investigated the death of his son who was on duty in the DMZ, the border between North Korea and South Korea. This was inspired by true story which happened in the 1990’s and the case remain unsolved until today.
The story has been given the uneasy feeling to the Korean government, because it shows their failure. Therefore, the project has been on hold for about a year because the movie production company would want to take many careful consideration. However, with the recent political development with the impeachment of presiden Park, the project will have a go early next year.
Director Lim Sung-Chan A Light Sleep has been appointed to helm the movie. Beside Han, he already cast another actor Im Seul-Ong to join the cast member of “Father’s War” The production process is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of next year.
Meanwhile, Han’s medical drama “Romance Doctor Teacher Kim” continues its successful rating, leaving other dramas behind. Han deliver an excellent performance in the drama and according to Seoul Daily News, her acting is flawless. It is because it doesn’t seem like he is acting as doctor Boo Young-Joo or Teacher Kim, but it fells like the character is his natural self.
In his other projects such as the period movie “The Royal Tailor” or action flick “Berlin File” he showcased his special skill to immerse and interpret the character that makes audience believe that he is the character itself, not the actor.
