JTBC mystery drama “Solomon’s Perjury” is an intense drama which deals with the mysterious case of the murder in one of the Seoul’s prestigious school. The victim is one of the student and the drama is entering fourth episode.
“Solomon’s Perjury” is an adaptation of Japanese comic and drama with the same name. The drama was written by Kim Ho-Soo and directed by Kang Il-Soo. The result of their collaboration was praised by the original writer Miyuki Miyabe.
Main protagonist was played by the young actress Kim Hyun-Soo. She was cast as Go Seo-Yeon, the model student who always willing to help others. Originally Go Ah-Sung was offered to play the role but she declined. According to official release from JTBC, Kim has a very good acting skill and she can deliver a strong impression which requires no words.
The drama premiered on Dec.16 and started with a high pace. Two students Lee So-Woo and Choi Woo-Hyuk were involved in a violence. Woo-Hyuk assaulted So-Woo, but the school judicial decided to advise So-Woo to change school. During the judicial proceeding, Seo-Yeon was declined to give testimony regarding the assault, which angered So-Woo.
Later on, So-Woo was found dead and a female student Lee Joo-Ri is supposedly witness the murder. The drama starts with a good storytelling to deliver a mysterious case involving murder of a student in the elite high school.
Actress Shin Se-Hwi is cast as Joo-Ri and she is able to give a good performance. Recently she was photographed in the Beauty+ magazine as reported by Seoul Daily News which will be displayed in the January edition of the magazine.
However, its ratings is relatively low which only average 1.307 percent in AGB Nielsen Korea and 1.1 percent in TnMS. The drama is aired as weekend drama on JTBC every Friday and Saturday. Next week’s episodes on Jan. 6 and 7 will not air because of the new year special program.
