Marvels Korean Superhero Secures A Role In Avengers

White Fox who is said to be the first Korean Marvel character who made her debut appearance in one of the company's signature series will now be playing a significant role in the story from now.

A very well-known character from Korean webtoon 'Avengers: Electric Rain', Ami Han who was identified by her superhero identity White Fox. In October 2014, ICv2 reported that a superhero introduced in Korean webtoon will be featured in the Marvel Universe.

As reported in cbr, The Korea Herald translated transcript from an interview with Marvel's C.B. Cebulski where it the revealed that the original superhero White Fox the transition from a webtoon created for Korean web portal Daum into the main Marvel Comics continuity. "The character has proven to be so popular that we've decided to take it from Korea," said Cebulski in the translated article. "She'll be joining the Avengers characters in the U.S. comic series. My hope is to bring ['Avengers Electric Rain'] from the Korean language into English and use it as the launch of a webtoon model in the U.S."

In just about 2 years the character found herself in limelight and she was in the chapter of Marvel's Civil War II - Choosing sides, which is one of the flagship's series.

The character is based on the myth of 9-tailed fox or Kumiho, a creature which has an ability to shape-shift, and she is known more for her thoughts on animal issues, as reported in koreaboo.

White Fox was the very first attempt for targeting the Korean audience. By the time looking at her popularity in the country, comics giant started feeling that this character belongs alongside the characters like 'Iron Man' and 'Captain America'.

She appeared in chapter 6 for the first time where the action moved to Seoul, Korea and is the main location for the issue.

Looking forward she might be making more appearances in the series and in the Avengers universe too.
