When idol groups become considerably successful, you can expect them to have less competition because companies actively avoid competing with them just like in the case with big-name groups like BIGBANG, SNSD and EXO. Now, it appears there is a new group in town that companies are trying not to get in conflict with: BTS.
Now, 2016 has been such a wonderful year for BTS as it is when Big Hit Entertainment's premier group finally broke out of its shell and achieved critical acclaim and recognition from the k-pop world as well as breaking several records. In fact, the group had even been awarded two daesangs (grand prize) in that same year, one for best album and the other for best artist. But more than that, BTS had also become one of the best selling artists of the years behind only EXO. Basically, everything BTS touches now turns to gold and with that being said, companies now think that it would be best not to compete with the 7-member group.
Koreaboo reports that an industry insider had revealed that companies are now planning their artists' release and activities strictly to avoid competition with BTS. Seeing as how the group's comebacks only seems to grow more successful each time, it's not really that surprising. It is said that the group is gearing up for a comeback in February. Big Hit Entertainment confirmed that they are in fact planning a comeback however, no date has been set as of yet. According to Billboard, BTS is slated to visit the US as part of their "WINGS Tour." They will be holding shows in Newark, Chicago and then Anaheim, CA consecutively from March 23 to April 3.
Now, there is definitely no stopping BTS as they take over the world especially now that competition seemed to be staying away from them. Keep out for more news about BTS.
