It has been confirmed! Minzy and Somi will be in one variety show! "Sisters' Slam Dunk" has casted both idols to be on the show.
Soompi has reported that the second season of "Sisters' Slam Dunk" will be returning with seven members. On January 17, a representative of the variety show has anounced that only two former members will be coming back. Comedians Kim Sook and Hong Jin Kyung will be the only original members who will return for the second season.
Actresses Kang Ye Won and Hang Chae Young has been added to the cast. Together with them, singer, and variety star Hong Jin Young will also be in the cast. Many people are shocked with the combiantion of the cast. However, that was the similar case with the first one. Since Kang Ye Won, Han Chae Young, and Minzy do not really appear on variety shows that much, this season will be really something new.
Season two will revolve around creating a new girl group with the new members. It will still help the members achieve their other dreams but it will focus mostly on that. It will start to air around February.
"Season one featured the girl group project as just one of the dreams, but for season two, the members will be taking on individual dreams as they prepare to take the stage. Viewers will be able to see a variety of challenges that were not in season one." a production member stated,
The first season of "Sisters' Slam Dunk" reached the peak of its viewer ratings when actress Min Hyo Rin was achieving her dream. Her dream was to be a part of a girl group and the variety show helped her achieved that.
With the help of Park Jin Young and other people, Unnies was created. They debuted at KBS "Music bank" with the song composed by JYP, "Shut Up". The song also charted well in Korea and they also performed at KBS Entertainment awards.
Meanwhile, according to Kpopstarz, IOI has earned a total of eight million US dollars last year. Somi, the most popular member of the girl group has signed as an artist in JYPO Entertainment. "Sisters' Slam Dunk" will be one of her first projects after IOI. Are you excited for this new combination?
