Actor and singer Yoon Kye-Sang will join Kang Dong-Won and Han Hyo-Joo as the cast members in the movie “Golden Slumber.” The movie is adapted from Japanese novel written by Kotaro Isaka which has also been adapted into the movie.
Yoon has confirmed his commitment to play in the new movie “Golden Slumber” according to representative from the production team as reported by Korea Daily. The movie is a political suspense that tells the story of the assasination attempt on the president. He will join the acclaimed actors Kang Dong-Won and Han Hyo-Joo in the movie.
The movie follows story of a regular delivery man Gun-Woo (Kang) was who suddenly identified as the assassin who will assassinate the president. He is on the run while a radio reporter Sun-Young (Han) who went to the same college with Gun-Woo is interested with his story and investigate the truth. Yoon will play as Moo-Yeol, a government agent who was a friend of Gun-Woo and is assigned to capture him.
“Golden Slumber” is slated to premiere early this year according to News1. The movie is an adaption of Japanese novel written by Kotaro Isaka in 2007 which has been translated into English as “Remote Control” by Stephen Snyder in 2011 and published by Kodansha USA.
The novel has already been adapted into the movie in 2010 in Japan titled “Golden Slumber.” The Korean version will be directed by No Dong-Seok which will become his fifth movie project.
For Yoon, the movie is his 12th movie project since he began his acting career in 2004. He started his career as a member of the first generation idol group in Korea g.o.d. in 1998. He enjoyed his popularity with the group until he left the group to start his acting career and g.o.d. was disbanded a year later.
He rejoined in the reunion of g.o.d. in 2014. The group was not managed by JYP Entertainment, but Yoon and the member of g.o.d maintain a very good friendship with the founder of JYP, Park Jin-Young. Watch Yoon’s meeting with Park in the MBC program “Happy Time” below:
