Girls' Generation or SNSD is undeniably one of the most popular all-girl group in Korea. With their beautiful faces, statuesque bodies and impressive talent, Girls' Generation has amassed a hoard of fans from all walks of life.
While the girl group is still enjoying their fame and popularity as one of the most popular K-pop bands, there are reports that they might be disbanding soon. Disbanding might seem to be a strong word for Girls' Generation which led to reports that Girls' Generation member, Seohyun, might be going solo soon. "It feels emotional making a solo debut on the 10th anniversary of (Girls' Generation)," Seohyun told reporters at a media showcase event held at the SM Town Theater in southern Seoul.
Seohyun is the youngest member of Girls' Generation and her possible career move of leaving the K-pop group might be the biggest decision she will ever make in her career. The possibility of Seohyun leaving Girls' Generation and going solo might open the door for the 25-year old South Korean singer and actress.
According to Billboard, Seohyun is not the first member of Girls' Generation to release a solo album. In fact, Seohyun is the third Girls' Generation member to release a solo album, following the footsteps of Taeyeon and Tiffany on October 2015 and May 2016 respectively.
Seohyun's newest solo album, which was released on January 17, is entitled "Don't Say No." The latest solo album from Girls' Generation Seohyun has seven songs and has been tagged and described as an edgy, coming of age style.
Seohyun was only 16 years old when she first joined Girls' Generation or SNSD. This is one factor that has given her a sprightly, young image among the fans. However, her newest "Don't Say No" solo album will definitely let the fans see her in a whole new light.
Other songs in the album include songs entitled "Moonlight," "Bad Love" and "Magic." The seven tracks in Seohyun's "Don't Say No" album are a mix of 90's dance pop, R&B and mellow soft rock. One important thing to note about the first solo album of Seohyun is that she personally wrote all the lyrics of the songs except for the song "Don't Say No."
