Ji Sung has recently shared about his thoughts about his drama series titled "Defendant." The 39-year-old Korean actor is now playing the major character Park Jung Woo of the SBS drama series. Since he is playing the major character, many people get interested about his experience and his thoughts about the show.
Speaking the major character, Park Jung Woo is described as a successful prosecutor. Despite having a good career, he has been accused of murdering his wife and daughter and sentenced for a"death-row 3866." It is not easy for him to clear his name as he cannot remember anything.
In order to make his role believable, Sung should take a toll on his character. He lost six kilograms while filming the drama series, according to Soompi.
On Thursday, Jan. 19, the actor revealed the reason why he wants to be part of this drama. Apparently, his role is challenging.
"I wanted to try this kind of genre but it took me a while to decide since it's a difficult subject to approach and I don't want to even think about any of this actually happening to me in real life," Sung told the press.
He added that it is hard to imagine to lost love ones (his wife and daughter). So while reading the script, he was tormented.
Sung also confessed that he is having nightmares these days. It seems that the his current drama series give him pressure.
Girls' Generation's Yuri plays the role of Park Jung Woo's public defender Seo Eun Hye. Yuri revealed that Ji Sung's wife Lee Bo Young helped her in acting.
"Defendant" airdate is set for Monday, January 23, at 10pm KST onwards on SBS. The episode 1 will introduce the lead characters.
