'Running Man' Won't Be Ending This 2017

Fans of the hit urban variety show "Running Man" will surely rejoice. It was just announced that the show will continue its airing and won't end next month.

On Jan. 23, Koreaboo wrote that SBS, the home network of the said variety show, released an official statement saying that the show's nearing end is officially canceled. Last year, it was previously stated that the show will have its ending this February after controversies of Song Ji Hyo and Kim Jong Kook's removal from the show has arisen.

The following day, Jan. 24, 2017, "Running Man" executives also seconded the statement made by SBS through its official Instagram account. The post explained that the six remaining members of the show met with SBS and the show's producers to consider fans' wishes on the show's continuation.

It was revealed that the new agreement came into life because of the new Vice President of SBS Entertainment, Nam Seung Yong, who saw the sincerity among the members and the fans of the show. The Vice President also offered his sincerest apologies for all the hassle and controversies. Another interesting fact about Seung Yong is that he was also one of the brainchildren of the show way back in 2010, according to Soompi.

Despite having its ending canceled, SBS announced that the planned world tour of the members will still push through. Although the countries included weren't fixed yet, the said world tour was announced to last until March this year.

Currently, "Running Man" is having a "member's special" theme where it already aired episodes about Song Ji Hyo, Kim Jong Kook, and most recently, Ji Suk Jin who had a second wedding with his wife. It seems that fans will have more episodes to look forward to after the said special ends.
