Moon Chae Won is in talks to star in the Korean version of "Criminal Minds." Did she accept the offer and who else will join her in the project?
Moon Chae Won's agency Namoo Actors confirmed the reports by saying that the actress did receive an offer to appear in "Criminal Minds." However, she is still considering it so nothing has been official so far.
According to Soompi, the actress has been looking into several roles to choose as her project as soon as "Goodbye Mr. Black" ended. Moon Chae Won was also rumored to play the lead role in tvN's "Bride of the Water God" but she was not mentioned in the official cast of the fantasy series.
Lee Joon Ki and Kim Ah Joong also received offers to appear in the series. Like Moon Chae Won, the two stars are still examining the project.
The upcoming series is a remake of the hit U.S. series "Criminal Minds." It stays on air ever since it premiered in September 2005. The crime drama is now down to 12 seasons and produced a couple of spin-offs.
The producers of popular Korean series "Descendants of the Sun" are working with the producers of another hit series "Iris" to do the remake, Yonhap News previously reported. They will team up with ABC Studios and Disney Media Distribution.
According to Naver, the producers are planning to do a pre-production by the first half of 2017. They are targeting a fall release date for Korea's "Criminal Minds."
While Korean producers are interested in doing their own version of "Criminal Minds," ABC is also looking at doing a US remake of a Korean show. "House" executive producer David Shore will pen the script.
The hit drama "Good Doctor" will get a US remake. Interestingly, the show also starred Moon Chae Won who played the role of a senior worker.
