BIG BANG's MADE era was considerably short but most definitely sweet as it posted one of the most successful runs of any album in the realm of K-pop. The album was released only in December and BIG BANG member TOP enlisted in the military in February but there was no doubt that the MADE album definitely made its mark.
According to a report from SBS Pop Asia, aside from the numerous awards received by the group from the album, they also had one of the most successful world tours among any Korean artist. In fact, over 1.5 million BIG BANG fans attended the boys' performances leading to sold out shows and an even higher market demand for their concerts.
BIG BANG made waves in China too, when heir MADE V.I.P tour became the most attended concert by a foreign act in the country. The same goes with 2016's 0.to.10 concerts also drew major crowds proving just how popular T.O.P, Taeyang, G-Dragon, Daesung and Seungri remain even after 11 years in the spotlight.
Among the most recent wins that the group received from MADE was from the Korean Music Awards where they took home the prize for Group Musician of the Year (Netizen Vote), Song of the Year of "Bae Bae" and Best Pop Song for Loser. It also ruled the Gaon Chart Awards when it got five Song of the Year Awards for "Loser", "BBB", "If You", "LNFIL" and "Fxxk It". It also brought in wins from the Golden Disc Awards, Melon Music Awards, Melon Popularity Award and Mnet Asian Music Awards.
"BBB" won Record of the Year in Digital Release and Bonsang Award at the Seoul Music Awards. In Japan, they also proved that they are one of the most formidable Asian acts in the scene as they took home the Song of the Year by Download for 2016 and 2017 for "BBB" at the Japan Gold Disc Award, the Best Asian Artist Award, Album of the Year for the MADE series, Best 3 Albums and Best Music Video for the MADE tour.
The boys also took home wins from Japan Record Awards, MTV TRL Awards in Italy, QQ Music Awards, Korea SNS Industry Awards, MTV IGGY, Korea Marketing Award, InStyle Star Icon Awards, IFPI, KKBOx Music Awards, SBS Pop Asia Awards, Soompi Awards, Nate Awards and in music shows.
All in all, BIG BANG received a total of 98 awards for the MADE series, and its remaining members continue to thrive in the music and fashion industries. G-Dragon recently hit the 13 million follower milestone on Instagram as he gears to release a solo album within the year. Taeyang, Daesung and Seungri are also expected to come out with new material before they too enter mandatory military service, Hype reported.
