Executive Producer for SM Entertainment Lee Soo Man has just announced their plans for auditions in Indonesia. It seems like NCT will have their first Indonesian member/s in the near future.
According to Soompi, Lee Soo Man made the announcement during the Indonesia-Korea Business Summit 2017 on Tuesday, March 14. Leeteuk of Super Junior also attended the business summit. The agency plans to have their first Indonesian member for NCT.
"After the spread of Korean music, dramas, and various contents, Hallyu culture also became diffused in Indonesia, and after Super Junior's first Indonesia concert in April of 2012, many other K-Pop artists followed suit by visiting Indonesia, with SM also holding annual SM Town concerts," said Lee Soo Man during the business summit. He too added how the internet has helped spread Korean culture through Korean pop music, and dramas as well.
Lee Soo Man has also revealed their plan to produce a group similar to NCT, but is based in the Southeast Asia region. The executive producer similarly expressed their intentions to venture business with their Indonesian partners to further strengthen their ties.
SM Entertainment's boy group NCT (Neo Culture Technology) has a variety of foreign members. Members Winwin, Chen Le, and Runjun hail from China, while member Yuta is from Japan. NCT's Ten is a recruit from Thailand.
NCT currently has 3 sub-units: NCT U, NCT 127, and NCT Dream. NCT 127 released their EP titled "NCT #127" in 2016.
Earlier this year, NCT 127 also released another EP tiled "Limitless" that sold more than 77,000 thousand copies. NCT Dream on the other hand, released a double A-Side single in February titled "The First" that contained 5 tracks with the song "My First and Last" as the carrier single.
In other news, NCT's Jaehyun and Johnny will be disc jockeying for SBS' FM radio program, reports All Kpop. This was confirmed by a representative for SBS on Wednesday, March 8.
NCT's Jaehyun and Johnny will start their new radio show on March 20 after "Jang Ye Won's Night Like Today". Jaehyun and Johnny have been proving their DJ skill since they replaced Park So Hyun in "Love Game".
