RBW Entertainment unveiled their latest K-pop girl group last 2014, Mamamoo. Upon its showcasing, the group indeed gathered a great amount of attention as they set fire in their performances.
Thanks to their vibrant R&B music that perfectly goes with their retro jazz themes, they sure made it to stardom fast. Their strong vocals and innate talent in music and performance also gave way for their charm and physical look to stand out among the rest.
The group consists of Wheein, Moonbyul, Solar and Hwasa. And since then, they had already released four EPs, which are also called as mini albums, as well as one full studio album. According to Soompi, the group experienced an exponential increase in the sales of their albums.
The two comeback albums they had last year, which were Melting and Memory all had an outstanding amount of success, having sold over 41,000 and 48,000 copies respectively. Indeed, they have a lot to celebrate in their 1,000th day of being together as a group.
Put into the equation the numerous music videos that they had which garnered millions of views in YouTube, and the sold out concerts that they had. It just proves that they got what it takes to be one of the most popular icons in the K-pop industry.
The group says in one of their statements that they are hoping that their celebration for their 1,000th day is celebrated together with everyone. This shows that they wanted to give back to their fans that supported them all along.
Despite the recent blackface scandal that the group had experienced in the last week, they still managed to make it through its challenges and all the scrutiny that they had. This then again shows that they cannot be easily dismayed, because they have a high level of professionalism needed to survive in the K-pop industry.
