YG Entertainment just confirmed that G-dragon is working on new songs. Details are however still sketchy at this time.
"G-Dragon is consistently working on his solo album. There currently are no plans on when he will release these songs," said YG Entertainment on Wednesday, April 19. "He is going between YG and The Black Label's studio to work on this."
G-Dragon recently uploaded a photo on his official Instagram account. In the photo, G-Dragon appeared to be recording music while sporting a fairly thick moustache and beard.
It was obvious the rapper is too busy to even shave his face. According to Koreaboo, G-Dragon was indeed busy as stated by an entertainment insider.
According to the insider, G-Dragon has been working every day for his upcoming solo album, which explained how the rapper had no time to shave his face.
Additionally, the insider stated how G-Dragon worked straight from April 19 and April 18 without sleeping. The insider also stated how G-Dragon does not go anywhere except the music studio.
G-Dragon working on his upcoming solo album may be the reason why he won't be joining IU in her Inkigayo performance. According to All Kpop, IU is set to perform on the SBS show on Sunday, April 23 for her comeback performance for her album "Palette".
IU is set to perform her album's title track "Palette" in which she collaborated with the BIGBANG rapper. As IU revealed her fourth album's track listing on April 19, G-Dragon appeared to have written his rap lyrics to IU's title track.
Because of G-Dragon's absence, IU fans speculated that the rap part of the song will be improvised. Others speculated that the singer will get another rapper or IU herself will do the rap part.
Meanwhile, G-Dragon may release the new songs before his concert on June 10. It is still unclear though whether he will release them as singles or in an album.
