Super Junior's Kyuhyun has just been confirmed to be enlisting in the military really soon. Recent reports have it that Kyuhyun will be entering the Nonsan Army Training Center located in Chungnam this coming May 25.
To further prove the reports, SM Entertainment, the management company of Kyuhyun has also confirmed that this is indeed going to happen. According to Manila Bulletin, Kyuhyun will be undergoing basic military training in a span of four weeks. After which, the K-pop idol would then be assigned to the station as a public service worker.
It is worth knowing that all able-bodied Korean males are required to enlist in the military for two years. In the case of Kyuhyun, he remains to be the last member of his group, Super Junior, to enter military service.
However, recent reports state that Kyuhyun will receive special treatment for his upcoming military service. This is due to the fact that he has sustained a number of injuries. Kyuhyun has experienced a car accident ten years ago.
He was traveling together with Shindong, Leeteuk, and Eunhuk when the van that they were riding suddenly overturned. Kyuhyun was the one who sustained the most injuries. The injuries that he had during the accident were broken ribs, which also got his lungs pierced, as well as a fractured hip.
He then stayed in the hospital for more than two months for recovery. Now, he needs to refrain from engaging in strenuous physical activities that might pose a hazard to his health.
According to Yonhap News, Kyuhyun will also be having his current TV talk show, "Radio Star", to make way for his two-year military service. Meanwhile, Donghae, Siwon, and Eunhyuk of Super Junior will end their military service this year, while Ryeowook will end his military service on 2018.
