Its official. iKON is making their highly anticipated comeback next week as YG Entertainment announced that the K-pop group will drop their new album on May 22.
According to a report by All Kpop, YG originally posted the poster of the iKON comeback early today but took it down. But now, the poster has been restored on the announcement site and it features the boys wearing all black iKON hoodies with their backs to the camera. It could be a humorous literal translation of iKON's back.
YG has earlier teased iKON's comeback through photos with iKON's name and conspiracy stickers which may be the name of the group's comeback album. iKON's official Twitter page also teased a clip of the boys as are shooting the MV for their title track.
It can be recalled that the buzz for iKON's comeback has been teased since early this year. It was earlier reported that the group were originally slated for a comeback in April but had to take a backseat to WINNER's relaunch as a quartet following main vocalist's Nam Tae Hyun's departure from the group last year.
iKON fans expressed frustration over the delay but chose to wait patiently for the boys' upcoming album. Now, their patience is being rewarded as the group finally announced their official comeback schedule.
However, before iKON's album launch, the boys are expected to perform for the first part of their Japan Dome Tour on May 20 where they will be taking on the Kyocera Dome in Osaka. They will return to Korea to launch their comeback album on the 22nd and return to Japan on June 17 to perform at the Seibu Prince Dome in Saitama, Kpopstarz reported.
Prior to their comeback, iKON members have been busy making a name for themselves in Japan where their music has been greatly received by their audience. iKON members BI and Bobby were also featured artist in PSY's hip hop track "Bomb" in his eighth studio album "4 X 2 = 8."
