Nam Joo Hyuk Makes a Stunning Transformation for Upcoming Drama "Bride of the Water God”

Nam Joo Hyuk transforms into the dazzling Habaek, the king of the land of water in the new teaser of tvN's upcoming drama, "Bride of the Water God!"

Loosely of the popular manhwa by Yun Mi Kyung, the drama will take on an alternative storyline in a modern setting, which prompts mixed reaction from fans of the series. A previous teaser shows Habaek meeting his love interest, Soah as they gaze at each other inside of an aquarium. Soah is a neuropsychologist who is plagued with her father's debt.

Some fans are ready to criticize the drama not being in a traditional atmosphere, while others are defending the change to the storyline, stating that it is difficult to depict such a dream-like world as the Water Kingdom thus, the setting is modern. Undoubtedly, it will take a lot to win over fans of the manhwa who are apprehensive about the direction of the drama.

However, the new tvN teaser suggests that the elegance and enchantment of Habaek and his kingdom have not been completely erased as we get a glimpse of it in the teaser. Habaek looks ethereal with long blue hair and flowy blue robes as he announces himself as the king of the land of water.

Nam Joo Hyuk's latest leading role was the swimmer Joon Hyung, in "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" with onscreen and current off-screen girlfriend Lee Sung Kyung. We see the actor's strong connection to water appears again for "Bride of the Water God."

"Bride of the Water God" will begin airing July 3. The cast includes; Nam Joo Hyuk, Shin Se Kyung, f(x)'s Krystal and 5urprise's Gong Myung. Check out the teaser below and let us know if you are excited for the new drama.
