Doctors of T.O.P initiated a press conference on June 7 at 4 p.m. KST to update the public of the idol's status. The BIGBANG member is being treated at the Ewha Woman's University Mokdong Hospital.
T.O.P was hospitalized on the evening of June 6 after he was found unconscious at his military base. It was suspected that the idol overdosed of the medicine he takes for his anxiety.
On Wednesday, June 7 at 4 p.m. KST, doctors of T.O.P held a press conference to update the public and his fans. As reported by Soompi, the press conference was attended by professors Kim Han Soo (Otolaryngology Department), Lee Deok Hee, and Kim Yong Jae (Neurology Department).
The doctors first described how T.O.P was brought to the hospital and what his condition was at the time. The doctors stated that the idol was carried by three people, presumably his co-workers.
The doctors also stated that T.O.P was nearly unconscious upon arrival at the facility and that he was in deep drowsiness. The idol only responded by opening his eyes to very strong shocks and was not able to give responses for more than 10 seconds.
Also, T.O.P's blood pressure and heartbeat were exceedingly high. Doctors found out upon testing that his RBC (red blood cells) was low on oxygen but has high, dangerous concentrations of carbon dioxide - which could ultimately lead to brain damage.
The doctors also added that T.O.P overdosed of "benzodiazepine", a type of tranquilizer. This is the idol's medicine for his anxiety disorder. The medicine also helps the idol sleep better at night.
At the time of the press conference, the doctors revealed that T.O.P was still not breathing properly. The doctors also planned on treating him psychologically but were unable due to his unresponsive state.
Ultimately, the doctors said that in his condition, it would take T.O.P 2 weeks to recover. That is if he doesn't have any other illness.
Despite T.O.P's condition, however, the Seoul Central Court has set a court date for his case. The announcement came a few hours after the press conference.
According to Koreaboo, the Seoul Central Court has set June 29 as the date for T.O.P's marijuana case. It is unclear though if the session will
