BIGBANG T.O.P's Mother Fears For Still Unconscious Son; Doctors Say Patient Is Still Critical, May Need Psychiatric Treatment Later

BIGBANG T.O.P's distraught mother is angry over false reports downplaying her son's condition and expressed her grief over her son's unconscious state. She said that her son is not merely sleeping as some reports claim but are in fact in critical condition and "close to dying."

According to a report by Koreaboo, BIGBANG T.O.P's mother spoke up after learning about reports from police sources that claim that the BIGBANG rapper regained consciousness and will be back to normal after a few days. T.O.P's mother said that police official never made such a statement that her son is doing well when she talked to officials.

BIGBANG T.O.P's mother said that it hurts their family to read the news that T.O.P. was merely in a deep sleep when his condition is much worse than that. The YG artist needs an oxygen mask to help him breathe and it is unsure how worse his condition would get in the next days.

"Due to the lack of oxygen, he may have possible brain damage," T.O.P's mother said about her son's condition. YG has also released a statement confirming that the BIGBANG rapper was unconscious and that only close family members were allowed visitation rights.

Doctors at the Ehwa University Hospital where T.O.P. is currently confined held a press conference yesterday following the conflicting reports that have been released regarding the BIGBANG member's condition. The doctors confirmed that on June 6, T.O.P. was rushed to the emergency room unconscious, as opposed to some reports that T.O.P. was conscious when he was rushed to the hospital, YG United reported.

Doctors also confirmed that they found traces of the anti-anxiety drug benziodiazepine in the drug tests conducted on the patient in excessive doses. Doctors also confirmed that T.O.P. was in a deep sleep and was still in critical condition due to the need to monitor his carbon dioxide levels as well as his breathing. While there is no concrete schedule on when T.O.P. would regain consciousness and what complications will arise when he wakes up, doctors have said that they will be working with the neurology and psychiatric departments for T.O.P's treatment which may include psychiatric care once he regains consciousness in roughly a week's time.

BIGBANG's T.O.P. was recently discharged from service after he was found positive for marijuana in a hair follicle test conducted in March by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency where he was serving his two year mandatory enlistment as a member of the band unit. His case is pending investigation by the prosecutor's office, Kpopstarz reported. Meanwhile, #StayStrongTOP has become the #1 trending topic worldwide as T.O.P.'s fans rally behind the beleaguered BIGBANG member amid his ordeal.
