Its no secret that Ji Chang Wook is set to enlist for his mandatory service after completing the filming for his hit rom con series "Suspicious Partner." However, his fans should not be worried because the actor has several projects planned before his enlistment.
"As a man living in the Republic of Korea, he will be enlisting in the military this year," Glorious Entertainment, JI Chang Wook's agency said in a statement. "Before that time comes, he wants to repay the love of his fans through this meeting and give them an experience they won't forget."
Among the projects lined up by Ji Chang Wook after "Suspicious Partner" is a voice work project. The "Healer" actor has been cast in the Korean version of the popular anime "Your Name."
Ji Chang Wook will take on the role of Taki, a teenager living in Tokyo while Kim So Hyun will do the voice of Mitsuha, a girl living in rural Japan. The anime revolves around the two characters who mysteriously switch bodies, KMusic reported.
Aside from the anime project, Ji Chang Wook will also be celebrating his 10th year in the entertainment industry with a special concert for his fans. The concert entitled "Jiscovery History" seeks to celebrate JI Chang Wook's career and evolution to become the successful actor that he has become.
After starring in dramas since 2008 including action hits like "Healer" and "The K2," the actor also starred in his first movie "Fabricated City" which earned him an nomination from Baeksang Art Awards. The concert, according to his management is a way for him to reach out to his fans beyond more than the screen, Soompi reported.
Ji Chang's Wook's 10th anniversary concert will happen on July 22 at 7 pm at the Olympic Hall in Seoul. "I need to fulfill my military duties first. When this drama wraps up, I think I'll go to the army and then continue doing musical shows when I return," Ji Chang Wook earlier said about his enlistment plans.
