It's official - the long-anticipated and much-requested debut solo release of EXO's Chanyeol is happening this April 25. The single will be dropped at 6 p.m. KST.
Titled "SSFW" (Spring Summer Fall Winter), the track will be released via the third season of SM Entertainment's digital music venture, SM Station.
In a social media post by the company last April 16, Chanyeol's solo single will be offered in three versions - Korean, Japanese, and Chinese.
Through a separate post, the Korean entertainment giant further hyped up eager fans as they released a clip of Chanyeol promoting his latest musical offering.
"It's my first time releasing a solo [track] since my debut, and it feels very new. I'm really nervous and also very curious to see people's reactions. I'm feeling a lot of different things at once," the singer-multi-instrumentalist shared.
"Everyone, please look forward to it a lot. I hope you spend this spring together with my song 'SSFW.' Please show a lot of anticipation and love [for the song]!," he further added.
Park Chanyeol in real life, the 26-year-old artist first charmed K-pop enthusiasts when he debuted as the main rapper of the nine-piece boy band, EXO, back in 2012.
Since then, he has been dazzling EXO-Ls - EXO's loyal fandom - with his baby-faced looks and signature deep, manly voice. He is also adored by fans because of his songwriting skills, which he showcased in tracks like "Run," "Heaven," "Lightsaber," and "Confession," which was part of labelmate and Super Junior's Yesung's debut solo EP.
Chanyeol has also collaborated with fellow K-pop acts - from his bandmates Chen and Sehun, to award-winner singers Junggigo ("Let Me Love You") and Punch (for the K-drama Goblin soundtrack, "Stay With Me").
Together with EXO, his latest musical endeavor was the group's fifth studio album "Don't Mess Up My Tempo," released in November 2018. The effort spawned the earworms "Tempo" and "Love Shot," which is a track he co-wrote with Chen.
The album was repackaged as "Love Shot" a month after the launching.
Besides his musical chops, Chanyeol is also known for his acting stints, both in the small and big screens. He played roles in dramas such as EXO Next Door, Missing 9, and most recently, Memories of the Alhambra.
In 2015, he made his film debut through the romance framed, Salut d'Amour. A year later, he played the main role in the movie, So I Married An Anti-Fan.
