The debut solo track of EXO's Chanyeol proved that it's worth the wait as it topped the iTunes charts in multiple countries.
Released on April 25, the mid-tempo pop tune called "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter (SSFW)" has soared to claim the top spots in 14 countries including Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Mongolia, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Columbia, and Norway.
The hotly-anticipated track, which fully showcases Chanyeol's handsome trills, also went No. 1 on QQ Music, which is considered as the largest music-streaming platform in China where EXO has a massive fanbase.
Extending the song's dominance outside of streaming sites, fans of Chanyeol and EXO also made the hashtag #ChanyeolSSFW reach the top spot on Twitter's worldwide trends list.
In the single's accompanying visuals, the singer-rapper-multi-instrumentalist also shows off his acting chops as he witnesses - and experiences - how love can change through time; fully embodying the meaning of the track's title.
"The two of us are like spring and summer/ Deepening and blossoming/ We don't change our minds when the leaves fall/ I want to hold you closer to chase away the cold," the multi-hyphenate croons in the song.
As a treat to his multi-cultural following, the song "SSFW" was recorded and released in three languages, namely Korean, Chinese, and Japanese.
Apart from his new track, Chanyeol - alongside other EXO members - is set to charm fans through their latest photobook, "Present; gift." Set for release on April 30, this will serve as a compilation of images taken from their photoshoot-slash-vacation trip in Hawaii.
This newest project from the SM Entertainment-signed group was in partnership with Hawaii's tourism authority.
EXO, known for the megahits "Growl" and "Monster," is currently composed of Chanyeol, Suho, Xiumin, Lay, Baekhyun, Chen,, D.O., Kai and Sehun. They debuted back in 2012.
In an exclusive interview with E! Online earlier this month, Chanyeol has shared his thoughts of being with his fellow bandmates for seven years already.
"I was lucky to have good members in EXO, as well as the staff that assisted us in our activities. Also the managers who helped me," he shared, adding that though this people he was "able to grow this much." He further expressed thanks to his fans who help him feel "lucky to be loved."
