Most of the members of this girl group are from the TV show named Produce101. Pristin was composed of ten members named: Nayoung, Eunwoo, Rena, Yuha, Roa, Kyla, Xiyeon, Kyulkyung, Yehana, and Sungyeon. PRISTIN also had a sub-unit called Pristin V and the members of this sub-group were Nayoung, Roa, Kyulkyung, Eunwoo, and Rena.
Pristin is one of the most sought and successful rookies in the industry. The girl group won rookie awards from MAMA and Seoul Music Awards. They were also known for composing and writing their own music.
Last May 24, Pledis Entertainment delivered a very sad announcement that the girl group PRISTIN had officially disbanded. According to some sources, Pledis Entertainment and the PRISITIN members went to very deep discussions about the issue and unfortunately they've decided for disbandment. The girls also terminated their contract with Pledis entertainment and made a deal with another agency except with Kyulkyung, Yehana, and Sungyeon.
Based on the letter that was released by Pledis entertainment, it was a mutual agreement between the girls and the management. It was also written there that the agency respects the wish of the PRISTIN members and came to the conclusion of disbandment. The management ends their message by saying their farewell and sending their good luck with the girls and asking the fans to support them continuously. The girls who choose to left Pledis Entertainment made a vow to stay together and exclusively signed a contract with another agency to fasten their re-debut and of course, led by their leader, Nayoung.
Many fans were saddened by the news but they were delighted after knowing that several of the PRISTIN members will re-debut under the new agency. Some are praising Nayoung for working hard. One of the netizens also said that those members who choose to stay with Pledis Entertainment will eventually be successful too. The majority of the netizens hope that they met good management this time. Aside from the former PRISTIN members, new faces will be included in the new girl group. However, Nayoung will still take the lead of the new group. The debut date of these girls is yet to be announced.
However, after knowing that the rumors are said to be false, a lot of fans are mad at the management for wasting such talented groups. Speculations arise that the reason why the group split up is for Pledis to make way for the new girl group. Whatever the reason is, fans are surely not happy with what happened.
