Baek A Yeon Says Goodbye to JYP Entertainment

Baek A Yeon leaves a message to her fans saying:

"Hello, this is JYP Entertainment. We would like to inform you that the exclusive contracts of our artists Baek A Yeon and Baek Yerin (15&) expired on August 30 and September 14 respectively.

By seeking their own musical color while trying various genres, Baek A Yeon and Baek Yerin have moved listeners with their beautiful vocals and music. Although we are now parting ways, JYP will continue to sincerely support these two artists and their bright futures.

Thank you to the fans who have sent so much love to these two artists. We ask for your continued support so that they can become even more beloved artists who give happiness to others.

Thank you."

The singer also shared a set of pictures on her Instagram Stories, which ached the hearts of her fans. Those were snaps of the JYPE building, along with the text, "Goodbye."

In 2011, Baek A Yeon joined the "K-Pop Star" and eventually signed with JYP Entertainment. Soon enough, in 2012, she debuted, but her breakthrough as a vocalist arrived in 2015 with her self-penned song "Shouldn't Have."

Previously, 15&'s Baek Yerin also bid farewell from the agency to launch her own independent label. Then, her fellow member Park Jimin departed as well back in August this year.

Also, in March this year, Suzy left JYPE as well. Excerpts from the official statement regarding her departure said:

"Following Suzy's debut with the group miss A in 2010, she has worked her hardest in JYP while showing exceptional passion.

In 2017, her contract was renewed once through our mutual trust, continuing our special relationship.

We express our sincere gratitude to Suzy, who went through thick and thin with JYP for the long period of nine years from 2010 until now and provided the joy of growth together [with JYP].

In addition, we express gratitude to the fans who have provided generous love to all the achievements and challenges that JYP and Suzy have taken on together.

Although our official relationship has ended, JYP will sincerely cheer on the path that Suzy will walk down in the future."

Suzy talked about her setting off from her former company, and also her recent signing under Management SOOP.

"There were some discombobulating aspects of switching agencies in the middle of filming the drama. That kind of situation arose because filming [for 'Vagabond'] took place over such a long period of time," the idol-turned actress shared.

"However, unrelated to my switching agencies, I plan to work hard to show you good things. I hope you'll keep an eye on me," she added.
