Super Junior's Shindong recently received flak online because of his physique, which was actually vicious considering that someone just passed away a week ago due to the incessant bullying online. But because of the hate speech he received, the pioneering idol collectively took all of it as his motivation to improve himself.
Shindong, who currently weighs 255 pounds (116 kilograms), vowed that he will be enrolling in a weight loss company to assist him in shedding weight healthily. It was the company that made this announcement through a press release, adding that the Hallyu star's goal is 165 pounds or 75 kilograms.
According to reports, the aforementioned company is known to hire celebrities who aspire to lose and monitor their weight. They implement a strict dieting program, which makes their overall tactics effective.
The Super Junior member admitted that he had tried to lose weight in the past but to no avail, which encouraged him to enroll in the company. He added that every attempt that he did previously, he would go back to his old eating habits.
"I tried a lot of different diets in order to take care of my weight but I gained it all back and it's become a danger to my health. I'm considering this my last chance, and I'll be learning to the diet through a healthy method," he shared.
A couple of days ago, Shindong was ridiculed online through deplorable comments against him online, many of which are questioning why he was even accepted in SM Entertainment in the first place. Others are comparing him to the female idols, given that there is a required weight to be able to become one.
One netizen was quoted saying, "Seriously lose some weight. If a female idol looked like that, she wouldn't have been able to debut because she's fat."
Some, however, were downright mean, like this one: "How can you come out on TV and look like that? At least, stay away from performing on stage as an idol. You're disgusting."
Fortunately, many still defended the Super Junior member from these harsh remarks, with some setting Sulli's cause of passing as an example.
Meanwhile, Super Junior just released their latest full-group album "Time-Slip." This marks their first comeback after a decade, and after every member has fulfilled his mandatory military service. On October 24, their title track and music video "SUPER Clap" scored its first win on Mnet's "M! Countdown"
