They also impressively sold over 570,000 copies of their album and they have also already appeared in variety shows and events. However, X1 members and their companies reportedly have not received their pay from these activities.

"It's hard to even know the fate of the group. With the current situation, it's not guaranteed that a proper payment will be made for the activities that have taken place until now," industry representatives stated.

Meanwhile, insiders from X1 members' agencies made clarifications about them getting paid. A representative commented, "It has been about three months since X1 debuted, so it is correct that it is not yet the time for their payments to be received. Even if profits have been made from digital and physical album sales, it takes time for the profits to be sorted out."

"It depends on the contract, but generally payments are done on a quarterly basis. It has been about three months since X1's debut, so the profits from their digital and physical album sales have not been sorted out yet as far as we are aware. It is normal to have not been paid yet," another one added.

For quite long, the Mnet show has been hounded by controversy for allegedly rigging the votes. Then, last week, a report revealed that X1 hasn't signed a contract with the agency CJ ENM. Suspicions intensified the claims that the votes that the 11 members got from the completion of "Produce X 101" were manipulated.

In spite of the authorities' investigation regarding these speculations, CJ ENM still carried on with the decision to debut X1. This resulted in the agencies of some members of the newly-debuted group to sign their contracts with CJ ENM upon seeing how the probe's outcomes would be.

As of press time, X1's future activities have been postponed after the producing director Ahn Joong Young admitted to rigging the results of the survival show, as well as "Produce 48." The directors were also arrested due to alleged fraud and breach of trust, along with chief producer Kim Yong Bum. The two were detained for a questioning session, and the judge's verdict was:

"A large portion of the criminal charges have been explained, showing that this is an important issue. When I consider Ahn Joon Young's role in this case and the police investigation that has taken place up until now, I acknowledge that imprisonment is both necessary and reasonable."
