VIPs are currently celebrating the return of BIGBANG from the completion of their military service. Daesung and Taeyang were finally discharged from the military, three weeks after their leader G-Dragon made his return. And as expected, the two were met by their fans at the Ground Operations Command in Yongin.
"I still can't believe that I've been discharged. My time [in the military] could be seen as both a short period of time or a long one, depending on how you look at it, but I think it was truly meaningful. I want to thank my fellow soldiers and my superior officers who spent 20 months leading me despite my shortcomings," Taeyang shared.
Daesung then added, "I also think that I learned a lot of things after entering the military. I felt a lot of emotions that I hadn't experienced during my everyday life, and I think that I learned a lot about empathizing with other people."
The idol continued, "To all of my fellow soldiers and superior officers who, even now, are working hard and toiling away to protect our country-I want to say I love you and keep up the good work!"
T.O.P completed his mandatory military service in July this year, meaning that all the four members have completed theirs. And of course, since tons are expected for their comeback to the music scene, Daesung and Taeyang were asked regarding their future plans.
"After a lot of thought and careful discussion amongst ourselves, once we have shared our opinions and come to an agreement, I'd truly like to repay [our fans] with good things, and we'll work hard," Taeyang said.
"We'll try to show many sides of ourselves that we were unable to show during our time in the military," he further said.
Taeyang also came back to his Instagram account, adding that his last post before the latest one was in June of 2018. After his discharge, he posted a photo of him doing the salute pose whilst in other pictures, he was posing with the VIPs.
Twitterverse evidently rejoiced as well. Fans expressed their jubilation through heartwarming messages to their beloved idols.
A fan was quoted saying, "I hope they enjoy the time to themselves and don't rush back to music but that they return stronger than ever when they are all ready to return. We will be patiently waiting. All members being done is the best news and is very much a needed bit of positive news for the industry."
Welcome back, Kings!
