We get it. We miss D.O. too. At this point, we're calling ourselves "military wives" who are patiently waiting for our beloved Doh Kyungsoo's return which is in January of 2021, so basically we still have a whole 365 days or more to go.
As we miss EXO's main vocalist and a now-renowned actor in his right, it gets tough sometimes to even think of a distraction so we wouldn't feel a tinge of hurt when we remember his heart-shaped lips, squishy cheeks, and top-tier velvety voice. Some of you may have also watched his whole filmography that you're left with nothing else to do but stream his solo track "That's okay."
Fret not because who the heck even told you you cannot rewatch Kyungsoo's golden movies? Also, for those who haven't seen each and every film that he starred in, scroll through the list that we provided for you.
With his innate-and truly superb-talent in acting, we're 101% sure you're going to be left floored, not to mention that he's had a variety of roles that he portrayed, proving once and for all his versatility.
1. "Room No. 7" (2017)
Helmed by Lee Yong-seung, "Room No. 7" is a story revolving around a DVD room that hides a corpse. Kyungsoo's character, Tae-jung, discovered the lifeless body as he is working part-time at the store, whilst actor Shin Ha-kyun, playing the role of Doo-shik, is the owner of the shop and the one who's trying to keep the corpse hidden.
Prepare yourself though if you're going to watch this because in here, Kyungsoo swore a lot (which was oddly satisfying as it suits the mood of the movie).
2. "Pure Love"/"Unforgettable" (2016)
"Room No. 7" may be shocking because of its intense plot, but everything's sad and solemn and nostalgic when it comes to "Pure Love." It's about five friends from 1991 who, as the film progresses, tackles their story and how they reunited in 2014. Love, heartbreak, and melancholy are a few major elements of this movie. If you feel like shedding a tear or two or at least poking your current heart, we recommend this. And of course, Kyungsoo's acting did not-and will never-disappoint!
3. "My Annoying Brother" (2016)
Okay, so after "Pure Love," you can still be up for another good cry, no? Mind you, Kyungsoo's movies require resilient stamina of the bags under our eyes as "My Annoying Brother" will tear your heart in pieces, too.
It tells the story about two brothers who reunited after the older one, played by Jo Jung-suk, returned from prison after using his Judo athlete younger brother's, Doo-young (Kyungsoo), lost his eyesight due to an accident. None of their parents are still with them as they lost them since Doo-young was still a teenager. Hence, he fended for himself ever since but his older brother is a huge pain in the neck.
In spite of the obvious comedy, the story will start to melt your heart and eventually make you weep as you reach the latter part. Prepare a bulk of tissues, mate!
4. "Along With The Gods" Series
AWTG movies are no doubt one of the best films to hit our screens. Kyungsoo has a recurring role from the first and second installments, and although he is not the main character (yet) in these two, it's obvious that his acting made a lasting impact.
The thriller-fantasy movies go with the saga that a newly-ascended spirit in the purgatory goes through court-like hearing sessions that will determine if he deserves to be in heaven or in hell, with the help of three grim reapers. Kyungsoo's role is a private who accidentally kills a fellow soldier.
Believe us when we say that Kyungsoo's acting here is outstanding and deserves recognition. See the movies for yourself and be amazed!
Bonus: Rumor has it that Kyungsoo will star in the third installment of AWTG in 2021, just in time after he got back from the military. Spoiler alert: It could be a continuation of the outro scene of the second installment as Kyungsoo was seen trying to enter the gate of the afterlife.
5. "Swing Kids" (2018)
Of freaking course, who would actually forget to mention the legendary Roh Kisoo, Kyungsoo's character in "Swing Kids"? The movie was phenomenal, especially now that it is being nominated left and right. As a matter of fact, it's currently nominated for eight major categories at the 40th Blue Dragon Film Awards. The awarding ceremony will take place on November 21.
"Swing Kids" portrays the Geoji Prison Camp in the 1950s during the Korean War. Roh Kisoo is a rebellious soldier from North Korea who ends up falling in love with tap dancing after meeting a Broadway dancer named Jackson. The latter formed a dance unit, all of which have their own purpose as to why they opt to take part in this troupe. Then, Roh Kisoo joins in eventually.
As always, Kyungsoo delivered a brilliant performance in this movie, which made him the recipient of the recent Buil Film Awards. As of writing, he has 19 acting awards under his belt.
