KONNECT Entertainment publicized that Kang Daniel would be having the first performance of his upcoming digital single at his fan meeting "Color on Seoul." And giving a sneak peek of his not-yet-released song at an event will happen for the very first time.
A rep of the company shared, "Kang Daniel is planning on unveiling his new song ahead of its release, at his incoming fan meeting." The source continued, "Since it will be his first time to perform the song, we ask the fans to show plenty of interest."
Kang Daniel's three-day fan meeting "Color on Seoul" will take place from November 22 to 24, before the official launch of his new track. On November 25 at 6 PM KST, the idol's digital single will be out. Recently, Daniel shared a teaser image that gives a clue of what his concept will be.
Kang Daniel made his solo debut last July with his first extended play "Color On Me," which earned him a new record of highest first-week sales on the Hanteo Chart for a solo artist. In the first three days after the album's release, more than 400,000 copies were purchased, and he ended its first week with a total number of 466,701.
On top of that, "Color On Me" didn't only achieve the highest count of copies sold in the first week by a solo artist, it also became the eighth best-selling K-pop album only a week following its launch.
The special album consists the title track "What Are You Up To," which expresses interest and feelings for someone. The singer has partaken in writing the lyrics of this single as well as for the other three songs. Since Daniel has been on a six-month hiatus because of dealing with a legal feud with LM Entertainment, he described the album as "more than just a debut album, but a special album to make up for the fans who have been waiting and giving him love."
Kang Daniel began his singing career in 2017 when he finished first in the survival show "Produce 101" season 2 and became a member of the project boy group Wanna One. The boy band debuted in August with the mini-album called "1x1=1 (To Be One)" and disbanded in December 2018. Daniel then decided to establish his own company, which began to operate this past June.
