On November 20, reports state that the rookie male troupe recently sat down with officials from CJ Entertainment & Media as well as the representatives from the members' agencies to tackle the future activities of the group. One industry source told the news outlet that all the X1 members went to the meeting and that CJ E&M gave them a choice to continue as a group and promote together. But, it would only be possible if all members end up with the same decision to carry on as X1.
Unfortunately, based on the article, the members gave different opinions at the meeting, and so they were unable to have a conclusion. Following the report above, CJ E&M released a statement confirming the news. They stated, "It's true that we recently had a meeting with the X1 members. Also, we are continuously in touch with the members' labels. However, we have yet to come to a final decision concerning the group's activities in the future. We need to talk about the numerous factors thoroughly with not only the X1 members and also their companies as well as the others associated with the matter. And the recent conference included many of these points. We must reach a solution with an array of selections in mind."
They said, "We will carefully tackle the group's future activities and make a decision. The meeting didn't involve the topic of whether X1 will keep on promoting or not. We had an extensive talk about their promotions."
X1's recent activity was an appearance and performance at the "K-POP FESTA in Bangkok" on November 10. The group was supposed to attend the "V Live Awards V HEARTBEAT" last November 16, but one day before the event, V Live released a statement that says CJ E&M has informed them that X1 will not be participating any more. The reason for their absence was not mentioned.
Mnet also stated that X1 currently does not have any further scheduled activities. X1 debuted back in August with members entering the final lineup of the project boy group of the show "Produce X 101." However, following their debut, it was unveiled that the votes of the final members were manipulated by Mnet's producing director, who is now booked and charged. Because of the show's recent controversy, many fans are worried about the newly debuted idols and wonder if they would push on with being a group or disband.
