The solo artist had her fifth show in Korea for her 2019 IU Tour Concert Love, Poem that took place at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Seoul. After entertaining the fans with her stages all night, IU gave a few words before concluding the concert in which she mentioned her late best friend, Sulli. She shared how Sulli would always attend her show in Seoul.
"There is a person that I'm not able to see anymore but she'll always be my friend and I miss her so much. She would always be present at my concerts that take place in Seoul, even if she was busy. I was worried that I would cry on stage. So I tried hard not to weep tonight. One month has already passed since I last saw her."
She added, "With all these concerts, I always believe that she's always watching over me. And I know that she doesn't want to see me having a tough time and being weak because of her. So, I gave my all to be strong, and I have put all my effort into this tour. She would typically leave before the second encore song, so I want to make sure this final song will sound excellent. This is for her and for everyone who needs it." IU then sang the last track of her concert setlist, "Love Poem."
IU also shared during the concert, "Whenever I wrote a song and asked feedback from her, she would always wonder why I make things in a certain way. I created this song to provide strength to people who are going through difficult times. I always sing from my heart, and this time I will put more into it."
Not to mention, all of IU's fans, Sulli's fans, and K-pop fans were moved by IU's words of remembering her best friend. Comments like "Stay strong IU," "We lost our favorite idol, but IU lost a close friend. We should all send support to IU," "I hope you can get over this. I know the feeling of losing a friend, but please continue living a happy and good life for their sakes as well," were left for IU after her dedication song for Sulli.
Meanwhile, IU will continue her concert's Seoul leg on November 24; then she will fly to different cities across Asia for her international stops that will start at the end of this month in Taipei, Taiwan, next is Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, and last is in Indonesia.
