Around 10:30 a.m. on November 27 KST, the third hearing was held at the Central District Court in Seoul for the appeal trial of The East Light's case of abuse. The prosecution demanded three years imprisonment for Moon Young II and for Kim Chang Hwan, an eight months imprisonment suspended for two years.
The prosecution submitted the petition to the court explaining that the accused continue to deny charges, put blame on the victims and do not express remorse.
The appeal was lodged after the first hearing in July which Media Line Entertainment founder Moon Young II was sentenced to two years imprisonment on charges of child abuse by former members of The East Light Lee Seok Cheol and Lee Seung Hyun. Kim Chang Hwan, agency's CEO was sentenced to eight months imprisonment suspended for two years' probation for helping and encouraging child abuse.
The comment of Moon Young II at the hearing:
"All I can say is that I am sorry. I lived with repentance and looked back on myself during this time of over a year. I feel guilty because I know my actions can harm their future. I think even a year from now, all I will be able to say is that I am sorry. I'm sorry to everyone who got involved. I promise to do my best and live as a changed man."
Kim Chang Hwan added:
"In my 30 years of service, I have not done anything wrong or disgraceful, I always thought that our talents cannot receive love from the public if they are not loved by us. It is only Moon Young Il's mistake, so please acknowledge how I feel for being wrongly accused."
The trial for the appeal is set to be held on the 20th of December at 2 o'clock PM KST.
