CL is making her long-awaited comeback! Then on November 29, the female artist has uploaded the very first video on her channel that is entitled "In The Name of Love Teaser." The clip runs for 35 seconds, and CL can be heard singing several lines. At the end of the teaser, the release date of the song is displayed: December 4, 2019.

"In The Name of Love" is said to be a project album that is composed of six songs. From the 4th of December to the third week of the month, two tracks will be out each week.

"In The Name of Love" will be CL's first release in Korea after four years since her 2015 single "Hello Bitches" that was part of her extended play called "Lifted." Also, it will be CL's first track after leaving YG Entertainment.

Supposedly, CL will launch her new single on November 25, the date of 2NE1's disbandment, and the day after the death of Goo Hara. But out of respect for Goo Hara's passing, she postponed its release.

Because of the unexpected teaser, 2NE1 fans couldn't wait for the singer's upcoming song. Blackjacks (2NE1's fans) flooded her video with comments expressing how excited they are for her comeback. Some of the comments are, "I can feel her stage presence just by listening to her voice. A true queen indeed," "Queen CL is back to salvage 2019! And Bom is releasing a new song too. My Blackjack heart is full of warmth," "I'm so glad you are coming back after so many years. This song is already my favorite."

While some fans were cheering on CL, others took note of the last line the idol sang, which is "Last gift I am giving." It somehow hurts them, thinking that "In The Name of Love" might be CL's final track she will launch. But overall, Blackjacks are happy to hear some good news this year since 2019 has been a tragic year for the K-Pop fans.

Since 2NE1 took on a hiatus in 2015 due to Bom's 2014 drug scandal, CL established herself as a solo artist in the United States with her single "Hello Bitches." After a year of being inactive in the K-Pop scene, Minzy left the group and YG Entertainment in April 2016. Then in November of that same year, Bom's contract with the agency ended, which led to 2NE1's disbandment. CL and Sandara remained solo artists under YG Entertainment.

After 2NE1's disbandment, CL held her first North American tour, called "Hello Bitches Tour," which kicked off in October 2016 in New York City and ended in November of that same year in Toronto. The following year, CL became the featured artist in American artist Lil Yachty's "Surrender," and sang the original soundtrack "No Better Feelin'" for "My Little Pony: The Movie."

In 2018, CL debuted as Hollywood actress when she was cast in the movie "Mile 22." Last June of this year, the idol was featured in PKCZ®'s "Cut It Up" along with Afrojack. Then, on November 8, CL parted ways with the label, leaving Sandara, the only 2NE1 member under YG.
