"I'll be like you," said by a child patient, from her letter sent to Choi Ye Na and her fans. On the 20th, an organization called Korea Leukemia Children's Foundation made a phone call with tvX, donating for leukemia patients.
The total donation that was given reached about 6 million Korean Won, or approximately $5,175 US Dollar and the funds are set to support two patients, one with myeloid leukemia and the other one with malignant lymphoma.
The donation was made under the name of the girl group IZ*ONE Choi Ye Na, and in addition to this, a letter of gratitude was sent to the fans and the idol from the receiver.
In able to protect the privacy and their personal space of the patients, their name was not revealed as well as their family.
In the letter coming from the child, she said, "Dear Choi Ye Na and to your fans... I wanted to thank you for the soonest, but since my family is too busy, I am sending it now."
She also shared that their family doesn't have any history with the disease, as the youngest, she was in denial at first that she got the illness and afterward that it has been confirmed, a real problem arises.
The leukemia patient was raised by a father who was also raising another three daughters, which make it harder for him as the only one who is making money.
Through the donation, their life was changed and can be able to buy things she needed and the things she wanted. The patient was also motivated to get back to her daily life despite receiving chemotherapy and is grateful to the idol for giving her encouragement to keep going on.
"Thank you so much, and please pray for me to be filled with good things. The time will come, and we will be giving as much as we receive. Thank you." stating that she wants to be like Choi Ye Na, a helping hand to others.
The other patient extends her thankful heart for Choi Ye Na as well and to her fandom WIZ*ONE, who organized this donation to help others overcome their disease in which the member suffered as well during her younger days.
On MNET's IZ*ONE Chu variety show, the member mentioned that she was a malignant lymphoma patient when she was a child. Due to this, fans sympathize with her by sending help to others that must be in pain.
"Hi, Ye-Na. I'm A. Thank you for your support. At first, I was surprised and hard when I got this disease, but I am trying to overcome it. Please watch me and cheer me on end. Thank you for your support."
Meanwhile, IZ*ONE is currently in hiatus due to the controversy involving them in MNET's Produce idol show, 'Produce 48 and 101' regarding the vote manipulation on the final line up of the group.
Though the case was already going forward, and fans and netizens expressed their support to the whole group by sending cheering messages through social media sites.
