Red Velvet Wendy suffered multiple injuries during the SBS Gayo Daejon rehearsal. The idol singer suffered from pelvic, wrist, and facial injuries.
Due to this, SM Entertainment announced on the 25th of December that the group will no longer perform in the upcoming 2019 SBS Gayo Daejeon. SME announced "During the SBS 2019 Gayo Daejeon rehearsal, Wendy from Red Velvet suffered several injuries. She was immediately taken to the hospital and is being treated until now. Because of this unfortunate incident, the group will not be able to participate in both the pre-recording and live show of SBS Gayo Daejeon. We sincerely ask for your understanding and we apologize for all the Red Velvet fans who will be at the venue."
Wendy fell down from the platform as she was rehearsing for her solo performance. As a result, she bruised her face and had right pelvic and wrist injury. SM Entertainment also clarified that they will only give further announcements regarding the group's activities.
Meanwhile, SBS has released an official apology "On December 25th, Red Velvet Wendy was injured during the SBS Gayo Daejeon rehearsals. Because of this, the group won't be able to participate in the show. We're truly sorry for this unfortunate incident and we would like to apologize for all the fans and viewers. We are hoping for Wendy's speedy recovery and will make sure of each participant's safety in the future."
