YG Entertainment announced the debut of its new boy band "TREASURE." Also, they announced three changes. YG posted a notice on its official blog (www.yglife.com) on Monday saying, "We sincerely thank our fans for waiting on our debut."

First, from the changes, YG sought an extensive understanding from its fans, saying it is a prudent decision to focus more on the successful debut and growth of TREASURE. "TREASURE, which has been reorganized as a 12-member group, will introduce new content through various channels starting this month," YG said this week. "We will make our utmost efforts to provide all support for their successful debut and robust music activities."

YG earlier signaled the debut of the seven-member rookie boy group created through its survival program "YG Treasure Box," targeting its male trainees last year. He also said he would debut another boy group of six members of those who failed to make their debut in the program.

The agency also drew attention by announcing that the two new boy bands will first engage in activities with the 13-member boy group "Treasure 13." However, the debut of "Treasure 13" was delayed day by day as YG's internal atmosphere became unsettled, with former CEO Yang Hyunsuk embroiled in allegations of tax evasion and sexual favors.

YG Entertainment, which recounted the emergence of the rookie boy group over the year, announced that all members who had planned to "follow up again" after being selected separately through the "YG Treasure Box" broadcast would be merged into a single name "TREASURE" without any team distinction.

Second, the members of TREASURE will actively participate in writing and composing lyrics. This is a positive change since many of the members have voluntarily worked on producing music during the past few months, and have received high reviews of their own. Finally, YG said,

"TREASURE members have come to participate in writing activities and composing their lyrics and compositions.", and asked for the public's support and attention.

Lastly, Ha Yoonbin, a former TREASURE member, announced that he had terminated his exclusive contract as of December 31 last year. In response, YG explained that it is the result of honoring Ha Yoonbin's own opinion and determination that the musical direction seems more likely that he prefers debuting as a solo artist, and not to be included in a group. After a long time of thinking, Ha Yoon-bin said,

"I think the musical direction you are pursuing is closer to a solo than a team activity." He asked the company for counseling, and YG met several times and had a sincere conversation, but then agreed to respect Ha's firm will and opinions, and decided to terminate the contract as of December 31.

Hoping that everyone will sincerely support Ha Yoon Bin's bright future after working hard with YG and TREASURE members for the past year and three months.

TREASURE, which has been reorganized as a 12-member group, will introduce new content through various channels starting in January 2020, and YG Entertainment will make every effort to support TREASURE's successful debut and music activities. Please give a lot of support and attention to this new rookie group coming this year!
