Jessica Jung, a former member of the Nation's girl group Girls' Generation, has recently revealed an excerpt from her debut novel," Shine" which fans and netizens believe that it was her life journey, from being a K-pop idol to becoming a career woman.

On the 30th of January, aside from the snippet of the story, the book cover was also revealed, and both attracted divided comments, gaining positive and negative feedbacks about her and the group.

On the book cover, nine stars can be seen, a mixture of white and striped stars (white and gold), while there's this one star which is pure gold and standing out. Netizens then believe that the stars represent the Girls' Generation members, and the pure gold was Jessica herself.

On the excerpt, the story was narrated through the first person Point-of-view of the main character, wherein she reminded herself of the things she needed to do once the camera flashed on their faces. 'Head up, legs crossed. Tummy tucked, shoulders back. Smile like the whole world is your best friend.'

The story was about a Korean-American teen superstar Rachel Kim, who was recruited under DB Entertainment and debuted as part of a K-pop idol group with nine members and also speaks about Rachel's love story with the 'golden boy' of the same company, Jason Lee.

Fans were then supportive to Jessica ever since the announcement last October 2019, where it was first published in the US.

However, some fans and supporters of the second generation group Girls' Generation leave negative criticism to Jessica, wherein they thought that Jessica was trying to open the door to her past issue with the members, exposing to the world why and how she was kicked out from the group. It was also a mystery to the netizens if who is the boy behind Jason Lee if the novel was really about her life as a K-pop idol.

Meanwhile, amidst this issue, people who were continuously supporting Jessica along with the other members who already have their individual careers as well felt emotional as they read the part of the excerpt, pointing out that the girls will always be a family.

"The interviewer's eyes light up, and he leans in conspiratorially.

'So you all get along? I mean nine incredibly beautiful girls in one group. That can't be easy."

'Nothing is ever always easy. But we are family, and family comes first. We belong together.'"

On the other hand, Jessica left from the group last September 2014, that cause pains and heartbreaks to the fans who were supporting the most popular girl group during that time, alongside with Wonder Girls, 2NE1, and other second-generation female bands.

It was allegedly reported that Jessica was then didn't leave the group, but she was kicked out and forced to choose between her business and group. There are a lot of claims as well, as to what could be the real reason; however, no one knows.
