Recently, it has been a mystery to netizens and K-pop fans, especially to SONEs, the "nation's girl group" SNSD's fandom, if the group will be having their possible comeback this first half of 2020.
This rumor surfaces after the Girls' Generation members drop updates on their personal social media accounts consecutively, wherein fans and netizens interpreted as hints of the group for their upcoming comeback.
On the 15th of February, the "Dancing Machine" member of SNSD Hyoyeon was reported to be seen in SM Entertainment according to some fans who were present in the company. In addition to this, she also posted a photo of her before that on the 11th and wrote, "Hyonnie is missing all of you too."
Hyoyeon's caption was a reply to their leader's update prior to her post wherein Taeyeon posted her picture as well, saying, "SONE, I miss you."
Meanwhile, Yuri and Yoona replied to the members' posts, respectively with, "Me, too."
In addition to this, Seohyun, the group's maknae, posted an Insta story update wherein a river was featured, with a caption saying, "The thing that everyone is waiting for...soon."
Fans and netizens then hold back their selves and shake off the thought of a comeback possibility, which is obviously the only thing everyone is waiting for. Also, fans and netizens suggested that it might be Seohyun's upcoming drama, "Hello, Dracula," that is set to be released this year as well.
Based on the reports, Seohyun will be playing the role of Ji Anna, a closet lesbian who seeks acceptance from her mother. However, the female idol replied, "The thing isn't Ji Anna." Which means that she wasn't talking about her drama, but another thing. This strengthens the claim of netizens that the post was probably an update of a future schedule together with the group.
Taeyeon and Sunny cut their hair as well, which fans lead to the idea of the change of hairstyle are in preparation for a comeback.
Moreover, Taeyeon's recent post, which is an image of 'sushi,' was related by fans to 'soshi,' which is the nickname of Girls' Generation's fandom.
Furthermore, Yuri's video ten years ago was resurfacing again where she wrote the words, "Girls' Generation, I love you," and said, "In 10 years, it will be August 2020, I hope we can all come back in August", it's like Yuri's magic is working.
It's been three years since Girls' Generation had their comeback, with a sub-unit called Oh!GG consisting of five members, including Yoona, Taeyeon, Sunny, Yuri, and Hyoyeon. Their release "Lil' Touch" received several loves form K-pop fans, after their return for several years.
On the other hand, there is no confirmation yet if the comeback is real, for it might also be a variety show or reunion fan meeting. Nevertheless, if it is true, fans are hoping for an OT8 comeback, including Seohyun, Sooyoung, and Tiffany. Undoubtedly, fans and netizens should also prepare anytime soon for SM Entertainment may or may not drop a comeback confirmation for if it's true, this will write another history for the K-pop industry.
